Questions are part of finding the path.

Find answers about Jumpcity's property transition practice, assessment, consultation, professional introductions, and compensation. You don't need to know which path fits before asking your first question.

01 · About Jumpcity

What Jumpcity is, what a Property Transition Practice means, and how it relates to a brokerage.

What is Jumpcity?

Jumpcity is a Property Transition Practice — a place to begin when life changes and property is involved, before the right transaction or professional is obvious. We start with your situation, help identify the paths worth considering, and connect you with appropriate professionals when specialized help is needed. You don't have to know what you need before you start. See how it works →

What is a Property Transition Practice?

A practice that begins with the situation rather than a predetermined transaction. A property transition can include selling, relocating, downsizing, resolving complications, comparing sale options, or simply taking more time to decide. Jumpcity helps you understand which paths fit before committing to one — even when the right path isn't a sale.

How is Jumpcity different from a traditional real estate brokerage?

A traditional brokerage conversation usually begins with a transaction — a listing, an offer, a purchase. Jumpcity begins with the household's situation, so the options you consider are the ones that actually fit. Brokerage activities are still performed only through appropriately licensed professionals and affiliated brokerage firms when a transaction is the right step.

What kinds of situations does Jumpcity help with?

Relocating, downsizing, inheriting a home, helping an aging parent, buying before selling, divorce or separation, a vacant or distant property, financial pressure, or simply deciding what to do next. If property is involved and the next step isn't obvious, that's the situation Jumpcity is built for. Explore your situation →

Is Jumpcity affiliated with Real Broker?

Yes. Jumpcity Transition Group is affiliated with Real Broker, LLC for licensed real estate brokerage activity. Jumpcity itself is a Property Transition Practice — it assesses, navigates, coordinates, and refers. Regulated brokerage work is performed only where appropriately licensed, through Real Broker, LLC and qualified participating professionals.

02 · Getting Started

The assessment, the review, the conversation, and what happens next.

How do I get started?

Complete the short Property Transition Assessment — about three minutes, no obligation. Tell us what's changing, the property involved, and what matters to you. A person reviews it before any conversation. Start Here →

What happens after I complete the assessment?

A person reviews the information you provide. Based on your situation, Jumpcity may recommend a focused consultation, request a little more information, or suggest another appropriate next step. Not every assessment leads to a consultation — the next step depends on what your situation actually calls for.

Who reviews my information?

Your situation is reviewed by Brent Edwards, Co-Founder and Property Transition Advisor. Intake and coordination are led by Monica Edwards, Co-Founder at the Transition Desk. Jumpcity is a practice, not a call center — the people who review your assessment stay involved as the conversation continues.

Who will I speak with?

You'll speak with the people who reviewed your assessment — not a rotating representative. Brent Edwards handles the property transition review; Monica Edwards handles intake, listening, and coordination. Brokerage activities are performed by Brent where appropriately licensed through Real Broker, LLC.

What happens during a consultation?

Where a consultation is appropriate, we talk through the relevant paths, tradeoffs, and the questions that still need answers. The goal is to clarify what deserves attention next — not to push a particular transaction. There's no pressure and no predetermined destination. See how it works →

What is a Next Move Brief?

A Next Move Brief brings the important pieces together: your situation, the options worth exploring, unanswered questions, and appropriate next steps. It's designed to help you move forward with clarity rather than guesswork. View a sample brief →

03 · Property Situations & Paths

Whether Jumpcity can help with a situation like yours.

Do I have to sell my home?

No. Selling is one possibility, but keeping, renting, adapting, or waiting may also deserve consideration depending on your circumstances. Jumpcity does not manufacture a transaction simply because property is involved. Sometimes the right next step is more information, another professional, or more time.

Can Jumpcity help if I'm relocating?

Yes. A relocation often involves more than one home, location, or timeline, and understanding the sequence matters. Jumpcity helps you see the move as one coordinated transition rather than several disconnected transactions. Explore relocation decisions →

What if I'm buying before selling?

That's a common situation, and the order of the move changes the tradeoffs. Jumpcity helps you weigh carrying costs, timing, and financing so the sequence fits your situation rather than creating unnecessary risk. Explore buying-before-selling options →

What if I inherited a property?

Inherited property often involves multiple decision-makers, estate questions, property condition, and distance. Jumpcity helps clarify what needs attention first and which professionals may be needed — whether that leads to a sale, an offer comparison, or another step entirely. Explore inherited property decisions →

Can Jumpcity help with downsizing or changing family needs?

Yes. When life changes, the home that once worked may no longer fit — whether that's downsizing, retirement, a growing household, or helping an aging parent. Jumpcity helps you understand the decisions involved before choosing a direction. Explore downsizing options →

What if I don't know which option is right?

That's exactly who Jumpcity is built for. You don't have to diagnose your own situation or choose a path before you start. Tell us what's happening, and we'll help determine what may need to happen next. Start Here →

04 · Professionals & Referrals

How introductions work, and who is responsible for what.

What happens when Jumpcity introduces another professional?

When an introduction makes sense, Jumpcity aims to carry forward the context that helps the professional begin with useful information — the household's goal, the property situation, priorities, and the agreed next step. Relevant information is shared with the household's permission. You don't have to rebuild your story with every new professional.

Can I choose my own professional?

Yes. When an introduction is helpful, Jumpcity can connect you with a qualified professional — but the choice is always yours. If you already have someone you trust, that relationship is respected. You're never required to use a recommended professional.

What if I already have a real estate agent?

You can still explore Jumpcity's educational resources. If you're already represented, Jumpcity respects that relationship and will not assume a replacement is needed. Where coordination helps, we work alongside the professionals already involved rather than replacing them.

Does Jumpcity perform the transaction itself?

Brokerage activities are performed only through appropriately licensed professionals and affiliated brokerage firms, including Real Broker, LLC. Other regulated work — legal, title, lending, tax, contracting — is handled by independent, qualified professionals in their own areas of expertise. Jumpcity's role is to assess, navigate, coordinate, and refer.

What responsibilities does the receiving professional have?

Independent providers remain responsible for their own advice, services, agreements, licensing, pricing, and performance. Jumpcity helps identify and introduce appropriate professionals and preserve context — but it does not control a professional's independent advice or guarantee their work. The household remains the decision-maker throughout.

05 · Costs & Compensation

What's free, how Jumpcity may be compensated, and what you'll know before you commit.

What does the assessment cost?

The assessment and initial consultation are free. If a paid service becomes relevant, the responsible provider will explain its scope and fees before you agree. There's no obligation to proceed with anything.

Is the initial consultation free?

Yes. The assessment and the initial consultation carry no charge. If a paid service or transaction ever becomes relevant, you'll know what it involves and how compensation works before you commit. See how Jumpcity gets paid → for the full picture.

How does Jumpcity get paid?

The assessment and initial consultation carry no charge. When an appropriate introduction leads to a completed transaction, Jumpcity may receive referral compensation through applicable brokerage arrangements under its Real Broker, LLC affiliation. Compensation is not automatically earned from every introduction. We explain how compensation applies to your situation — and the role we're playing — before you commit.

Will I pay extra because of a referral?

A referral doesn't automatically add to your cost. Referral compensation, where it applies, is typically paid out of the compensation a professional already earns — not added on top. Any applicable fees and relationships are disclosed so you understand the arrangement before you commit. See how Jumpcity gets paid →.

Are there fees for services provided by other professionals?

Independent professionals set their own fees for the services they provide. Jumpcity does not control their pricing. Before you agree to any paid service, the responsible provider explains its scope and cost. You always decide whether to proceed.

06 · Privacy & Service Areas

How your information is handled and where Jumpcity can help.

What happens to the information I share?

Your information is used to review your situation and help determine the appropriate next step. Because professional introductions may be part of the process, relevant context may be shared with a participating professional when an introduction is appropriate — with your permission. Sensitive documents and account numbers are not requested in the initial intake. Read the Privacy Policy →

Is my information shared with other professionals?

When an introduction is appropriate, relevant context may be shared so you don't have to restart your story. That's the point of context carried forward — and it happens with your permission. Sensitive records are not automatically transferred. See what happens to your information →.

Where can Jumpcity help?

Jumpcity helps households navigate property transitions across the United States. While our operational roots are in North Carolina and Texas, we can help people explore their options and connect with appropriate professionals in other markets through our referral relationships. Real estate brokerage and other regulated services are provided only where appropriately licensed.

Can Jumpcity help with an interstate move?

Yes. A household may live in one state, inherit property in another, and relocate to a third. Jumpcity starts with the situation and helps identify the appropriate path and professionals as the transition takes shape. Brokerage activity is performed only where appropriately licensed; other markets are handled through referral relationships. Explore relocation decisions →

Is Jumpcity affiliated with a licensed brokerage?

Yes. Jumpcity Transition Group is affiliated with Real Broker, LLC for licensed real estate brokerage activity. Jumpcity itself is a Property Transition Practice — not an independent full-service brokerage. See Is Jumpcity affiliated with Real Broker? → for the full relationship.
